TB DOTS Treatment
Free TB DOTS treatment at the Mapandan RHU. Sputum testing, GeneXpert, and anti-TB medication available.
Description
The RHU provides Directly Observed Treatment Short Course (TB DOTS) for patients with tuberculosis. The service includes registration, sputum examination, GeneXpert/TBDC testing, physical examination, and provision of anti-TB drugs with proper intake instructions. The MHO maintains patient confidentiality and monitors treatment compliance.
Requirements
- Valid ID (government issued, employment, school, barangay certification)
- Medical Records, Prescription of Medicines (from previous physician, if any)
- Chest X-Ray PA Result (from government or private diagnostic facility)
Procedure
- Register in the log book. Midwife encodes data, vital signs, and asks about symptoms and duration.
- Submit sputum for examination.
- Sputum examination is conducted. Patient is referred to GeneXpert/TBDC for further testing.
- Consent is secured and confidentiality is maintained.
- MHO conducts physical examination of patient.
- Anti-TB drugs are given with record and patient is advised on proper intake.
