TB DOTS Treatment

Free TB DOTS treatment at the Mapandan RHU. Sputum testing, GeneXpert, and anti-TB medication available.

Description

The RHU provides Directly Observed Treatment Short Course (TB DOTS) for patients with tuberculosis. The service includes registration, sputum examination, GeneXpert/TBDC testing, physical examination, and provision of anti-TB drugs with proper intake instructions. The MHO maintains patient confidentiality and monitors treatment compliance.

Requirements

  • Valid ID (government issued, employment, school, barangay certification)
  • Medical Records, Prescription of Medicines (from previous physician, if any)
  • Chest X-Ray PA Result (from government or private diagnostic facility)

Procedure

  1. Register in the log book. Midwife encodes data, vital signs, and asks about symptoms and duration.
  2. Submit sputum for examination.
  3. Sputum examination is conducted. Patient is referred to GeneXpert/TBDC for further testing.
  4. Consent is secured and confidentiality is maintained.
  5. MHO conducts physical examination of patient.
  6. Anti-TB drugs are given with record and patient is advised on proper intake.
