Description
A marriage license is a legal requirement before a marriage can be solemnized in the Philippines. The Municipal Civil Registrar (MCR) of Mapandan processes marriage license applications, which include a required publication period. The license is valid for 120 days from the date of issuance.
Requirements
- Municipal Form No. 90
- Community Tax Certificate (cedula)
- Parental Consent of father/guardian (from MCR)
- Certificate of Family Planning (from Mun Health Office)
- Certificate of Pre-Marriage Counselling (from MSWD Office)
- CENOMAR / Birth Certificate (from PSA)
- Legal Capacity (from DFA, if one party is a foreigner)
Procedure
- Both parties appear at the MCR and submit all required documents.
- Fill out the marriage license application form.
- Pay the applicable fees at the Municipal Treasurer’s Office.
- Wait for the 10-day publication period.
- After publication, claim the marriage license from the MCR.
