Marriage License

Description

A marriage license is a legal requirement before a marriage can be solemnized in the Philippines. The Municipal Civil Registrar (MCR) of Mapandan processes marriage license applications, which include a required publication period. The license is valid for 120 days from the date of issuance.

Requirements

  • Municipal Form No. 90
  • Community Tax Certificate (cedula)
  • Parental Consent of father/guardian (from MCR)
  • Certificate of Family Planning (from Mun Health Office)
  • Certificate of Pre-Marriage Counselling (from MSWD Office)
  • CENOMAR / Birth Certificate (from PSA)
  • Legal Capacity (from DFA, if one party is a foreigner)

Procedure

  1. Both parties appear at the MCR and submit all required documents.
  2. Fill out the marriage license application form.
  3. Pay the applicable fees at the Municipal Treasurer’s Office.
  4. Wait for the 10-day publication period.
  5. After publication, claim the marriage license from the MCR.
