Family Planning

Free family planning services at the Mapandan RHU. Counselling and provision of oral pills and injectables for couples.

Description

The RHU provides family planning services to couples, including counselling on different family planning methods along with their advantages and disadvantages. The MHO assesses whether the chosen method is suitable and appropriate for the mother. Available methods include oral pills and DMPA injectables. Data encoding, obstetric history, and vital signs are recorded during the consultation.

Requirements

  • Valid ID (government issued, employment, school, barangay certification)

Procedure

  1. Register in the log book. Midwife encodes data, obstetric history, and vital signs.
  2. Receive counselling on different family planning methods, including advantages and disadvantages.
  3. Select the preferred family planning method.
  4. MHO assesses whether the method is suitable and appropriate.
  5. Provision of family planning method (oral pills or DMPA injectable).
